Facility registration is a recurring requirement tied to the facility itself. Prior Notice is a separate, per-shipment filing required every time a shipment crosses the border.

What happens if Prior Notice isn’t filed correctly?

FDA can refuse entry or hold the shipment at the port of arrival until a valid Prior Notice is on file.

Can a Prior Notice be changed after it’s submitted?

Yes. Shipment, timing, and carrier details can be amended or the filing can be canceled and resubmitted if plans change.
