Food Registration Renewals

Food facility registrations must be renewed biennially during October-December of every even-numbered year. Missing the deadline results in the registration becoming inactive which can halt your ability to import or sell food in the U.S. We track every deadline so you never miss one.

Biennial Renewal Management

We proactively contact you ahead of your renewal window, gather updated information, and submit your renewal on time.

  • Deadline tracking & advance reminders
  • Updated facility information collection
  • Timely FDA submission in October-December window
  • Confirmation documentation provided

U.S. Agent Annual Renewal

Your U.S. Agent designation also requires renewal. We handle this automatically as part of your ongoing service agreement, with no lapse in representation.

  • Automatic annual U.S. Agent renewal
  • Continued FDA communication coverage
  • Updated registration records
  • No interruption in representation

Registration Amendments & Ownership Transitions

Facility address changes or new product categories are filed as registration amendments within 60 days. A change in ownership works differently: the previous owner must cancel the registration and the new owner must submit a brand-new one. We manage both sides of that transition so there’s no gap in active registration.

  • Ownership transition (cancellation & new registration)
  • Facility address amendments
  • Product category changes
  • Emergency cancellation support

Compliance Calendar Management

Managing multiple registrations? We maintain a compliance calendar for all your FDA registrations and notify you well in advance of every deadline.

  • Multi-facility deadline tracking
  • Advance renewal notifications
  • Consolidated renewal management
  • Annual compliance status reports

Food Registration Renewals FAQs

How often do I need to renew my food facility registration?

Every two years, during the October 1–December 31 window of even-numbered years. Missing this window makes your registration inactive.

Is my U.S. Agent designation renewed on the same schedule as my facility registration?

No. U.S. Agent renewal is annual, while facility registration renews biennially. We manage both on their separate timelines.

Can I update my registration if I change ownership?

Not as a simple amendment. FDA requires the previous owner to cancel the registration and the new owner to submit a new one. We handle both steps.

What happens if my registration becomes inactive?

An inactive registration can halt your ability to import or sell food in the U.S. until a new or renewed registration is confirmed.
